Mermaid v Shark 2026 also known as Shark v Mermaid is a Champ Dog movie for ITN studios. It’s shot in exotic Suffolk in the UK on locations that look in part the same as those of Bikini Shark 2025. They are dismally distracting. With no budget in sight the crew should have chipped in for a better locale on a different island. Being a no budget monster movie however you get what you haven’t paid for. The execution of the plot is badly handled with overlong scenes that should have come in late and got out a lot earlier. It also could have taken note of the ‘show don’t tell’ school of production. Act 1 comes in heavy with the sexualised imagery which I guess is in keeping with the mermaid theme. After Act 1 there is nothing much to stay for as a predicable werewolf v vampire clone plays out over an intrusive electronic drone soundtrack. The CGI transformation of  man to shark man and woman to mermaid is well done however. As are the mermaid prosthetics. But this was not enough to keep me from the fast forward button.
