Hell No, Send In More Troops. ⭐️

Up From The Depths 1979 is a sharksploitation movie of the Jaws cash in variety. The antagonist is a strange monstrous fish. It moves like a shark, It has a double shark like fin, all the early sharksploitation tropes are present including a full orchestral Jaws like score, but it’s not a shark. There is a bikini count and in this it shares a similar place as that other non shark Jaws cash in, Bacalhau 1976. Bacalhau was supposed to be a cod and this movies creature appears very cod like when first fully viewed. The plot is lacking any tension or suspense and the actors are just phoning it in. if it wasn’t for the shark like attacks there would be nothing to justify a Sharksploitation fans attention. If you enjoy 70’s B grades you might be mildly entertained. However not much here for a modern audience.

While, Up From The Depths was probably the first sharksploitation movie to use a flamethrower other movies include. Super Shark 2011 and Sand Sharks 2011. Now something was in the air in 2011 as two other non shark movies, Bellflower and a remake/ prequel of The Thing also had flamethrowers. If you believe there are no coincidences then whats going on. I digress.

The Creature Is Stealing Sharksploitation Slicks.
