 47 metres down uncaged 2019 Is the supposed sequel to 47 metres down, same director different cast, wildly different premise. This one has a higher bikini count and initially seems aimed at a teen market. however to not move past the queens of mean opening in act 1 is to miss out on a genre classic. The plot is well thought out with no filler or side bars. Nicely paced action and the characters become engaging as the story develops. The lighting of the underwater sequences is spot on creating a sense of wonder and beauty and then suspense and tension when the scene requires it. The unusual and implausible Great White is eerily terrifying in the claustrophobic settings of act 2. There is some major chumming of the waters and what a great ( improbable) finale this movie has. It’s my second watch and already I can see myself watching this again in time. Pure Sharksploitation gold.
