You’re Talking About Some Damn Sharks Mother. ⭐️⭐️

Jaws 3 1983 is a movie that should have exemplified the law of diminishing returns for the franchise. Now, It is not let down by the script which leans in hard to find ways of keeping members of the Brody family in the water despite what the first two movies did to traumatise them. It’s not the cast either as despite the dialogue being fairly lame until the shark becomes central to the story, they then generated a thrilling amount of tension. It’s only partially the shark depictions fault. The use of a mechanical shark attacking in slow motion and then the speeding fin sequences are a sharksploitation’s fan’s idea of a reverse double whammy. What really took the bite out of the movie though was the use of shonky 3D effects. Why take a major movie phenomenon like the Jaws franchise and do this instalment with technology that is little more than a fad every era it’s been used. I am sure this movie would have received more love than it’s getting from modern audiences without those awful 3D scenes. Despite this it made some 88 million off an 18 million budget. I remember when I saw this movie at a theatre and was delighted at what a crowd pleaser this instalment really was. It’s time for a non 3D remake.

Despite 3D, This Instalment Entertains.
