Kon Tiki With Artistic License. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

 Kon Tiki 2012, Is an adventure movie based on a true story. As a young man the book of Thor Heyerdahl’s crossing of the pacific was everywhere and was for me an early introduction to adventure stories. Now that I recall that book I remember the whale shark and whale plus shark encounters vividly. This is where the movie shines. Its CGI and rubber sharks are excellently depicted. The action and tension are also kept high in the encounters. Ok, a tiny nit pick here, the sharks depicted in the book were Mako’s and reef sharks. But here we are treated to the ubiquitous titan of terror, the great white. They are glorious in their naturalistic presence and where else will you feel the menace of a whale shark whilst floating on a raft? The ocean going scenes were enough for me to put the book back on the list for a reread.
