I’d Rather Take My Chances On The Titanic.⭐️
Below, 2023 is a mish mash of old poorly depicted sharksploitation tropes and poorly executed CGI. It does however have one or two passable rubber shark moments, it was these that kept my fingers crossed. The director and the production team tried, they really did and this production makes no pretence of being anything but a b grade outing, but for a feature length movie you need well timed beats to hold your attention in this genre. As for the other aspects, It was not the dialogue or acting that stopped me from getting up to make a cup of tea, but It’s no use playing a Jaws like theme if there is little or no tension right from Act 1, particularly if your production is almost exclusively out on the water. I tried to find some redeeming performances with the large cast but, apart from some mildly amusing takes on other better shot movies, I found myself relieved that the Bull shark was slowly reducing the overblown cast. For the Jaded fan it does have one of the most unlikely endings out of many a current low budget sharksploitation movie (the possible exception being the inside of a sharks mouth in Jaws 3). Thats if you can holdout for approximately one hour and 8 minutes. Yes I was counting.
