A Salute To The Dogs Of Sharksploitation.

 Ever since Pipet disappeared in Jaws quite a few sharksploitation movies have canine support characters. I think we can all agree that it’s ok for actors to die horrible deaths in shark movies, but no one wants to see man’s best friend taken. So here is a list of the doggies I know of and their movie appearances.

1) Unnamed dog in Bull Shark 2022. Like Jaws the dog's demise is implied only.

2) Pipen (sounds like a pipet salute?), Stars in the Meg franchise.

3) Bully, Stars in Bait 2012.

4) Hollie First seen in Deep Blood 1989 where she has the good sense to stay out of the water while her human is taken by a shark. Later Hollie appears as reused footage in Cruel Jaws 1995 for about 3 seconds.

5) A similar dog to Hollie is taken by a great white in Shark Killer 2015 after trying to warn revealers of the danger in a marina at night. Semper Fi little guy.

6) A unnamed small fluffy white dog in Megalodon Frenzy 2023, we are told that he is a good boy shortly before his owner is snacked on by a Meg.

6) Keke, stars in 2024's Under Paris. He has a near encounter with a Mako from the Sienne riverbank and although his human support person is later killed, Keke's fate is unknown.

7) A collie dog named liberty collects a human head from a beach in 1978’s Barracuda. Which is  sharksploitation like ?

8) A  Labrador dog named Yeddi survives in the Hindi movie Warning 2013.
