Now You Want To Call That Shark A Rumour? ⭐⭐⭐

 The Last Shark 1981 is the pinnacle of three Italian directed sharksploitation movies. The trifecta is rounded out by the later released Deep Blood 1989 and Cruel Jaws 1995. I reference the latter movies because they learnt nothing from the Jaws franchise whereas this one in directly ripping off the series actually managed to make something passably enjoyable. Its attack scenes are quite tense if you put the excessive hysterics aside. In addition, their version of the attacks is a marvel of rubber shark use given the time period this came out in. It raised for me the question; how would the cast of Jaws have fared differently if they had been in a helicopter and not the Orca?  I have seen this movie many times and I have liked it more with each watching. Maybe it's the old school production values, maybe just nostalgia. Or maybe I should be reframing this as a Jaws tribute ?
