The Shark God Kangeroha Is Angry.

The mostly charming She Gods of Shark Reef (1958) was shot in the Hawaiian Islands and as a progenitor to sharksploitation comes with some obligatory hula dancing instead of bikinis. The bikini was fairly well known in the 50's but was yet to become the trope that it is today. It’s of it’s time, an age when men were men (Their hair was perfect), woman were treated  as second class citizens even on their all female island. The sharks, well they behaved like real sharks, because they were. For me it highlighted that overacting is  now well over 60 years old. For Sharksploitation fans it all happens in the last three minutes of a movie that is a little over one hour. Otherwise, it's for Rodger Corman completists only.  I felt uncomfortable with the harming of real sharks, So, I am also a product of my own time.
