The Reef 2010 has much to recommend it to a wide audience. Aimed squarely at the fear of the unknown, the plot develops through choices and decisions influenced by this fear. The cinematography is top notch take for example the water level camera work. When combined with the sound of continuous lapping water and a further minimalist score the tension is heightened. The cast displays convincing terror and in the encounters aftermath, are convincingly traumatised. Best shark movie since Jaws.
